I received my bachelor's degree in Biomedical sciences from Northern Arizona University. I am a current graduate student in Dr. Frank Duca's laboratory, where we investigate the impact of the gut microbiota in metabolic diseases, with a focus on identifying specific bacteria or bacterially-produced metabolites that we can target for treatment of obesity and diabetes. Outside of the lab I enjoy staying active by coaching and playing basketball and exploring new coffee shops in my area.
