I graduated from Winona State University with a B.S. in cell and molecular biology, where I conducted research on maternal-fetal programming. Following my undergraduate studies, I pursued research at Mayo Clinic, focusing on the pathophysiology of diabetes and the impact of circadian disruption on beta cell dysfunction. This experience deepened my passion for research and motivated me to apply for a PhD program. During my search for graduate schools, I had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Emilyn Alejandro, reigniting my interest in maternal-fetal programming. Currently, my research focuses on elucidating the effects of hyperinsulinemia on placental and fetal health, as well as inflammation.
